Katelynd Duncan is the founder of Chicago-based KJD STRATEGIES. Launched in 2010 at the age of 24, Katelynd started raising money for candidates from her apartment. Since then, KJD Strategies has raised more than $100 million for local and national political action committees and nonprofits as Chicago’s preeminent strategies fundraising firm.
Katelynd serves as a confidant and political strategist for some of Illinois’ topic political leaders. KJD Strategies’ clients include former Mayors, Governors and Senators as well as a range of state and municipal electeds. Most proudly, KJD Strategies’ represents many of Illinois’ women leaders, including State Comptroller Susana Mendoza, Chicago City Clerk Anna Valencia, Chicago City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin. In 2018, Katelynd was the recipient of the “ Dawn Clark Netsch Straight Talk” Award by Reform for Illinois for her work on addressing sexual harassment in government in politics. She also serves as senior advisor and co-founder of One Illinois, a progressive news organization, and was the fundraiser for the Anti-Harassment, Equality and Access panel.
